STEP-BY-STEP DANCE
BBC TEACH | 7 x 9', 7 x 5’, 7 x 3’, 3 x 25’ audio, plus print resources
The Step-by-Step series was produced by Cornucopia for BBC Teach in three separate strands and across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. It has been an incredible journey, starting pre-pandemic and completed in spring 2024. The series features leading Dance Education Practitioner, Claire Pring, working with teachers in real school settings to deliver creative and engaging dance lessons. Joining Claire is Laura Nicholson, Head of Children and Young People’s Dance at One Dance UK, to judge our Dance Challenge episodes. Finally we show what can be achieved by allowing children to explore and create dance for themselves in the Dance Performance strand. The whole initiative is bolstered by extensive audio and teachers’ resources to support teacher training - all of which can be found on BBC Teach Step-by-Step Dance.

“Working with Cornucopia on a series of dance education films and resources for BBC Teach has been a truly collaborative process. Ben and the team undertook an extensive research and pre-production process to ensure that specialist expert subject knowledge was at the heart of the work, leading to a final product that is accessible and engaging for all teachers, and particularly those with less experience and confidence in the delivery of dance. The ability to capture children's learning and progress as it happens in a 'real life' context was critical to this project and was handled brilliantly by Ben and the team.”
